Basima Atalaya is a wondering scavenger. She was once a daughter of a noble father, always trying to help those who are poor and in need, until one day those in equal power and higher found him a nuisance and had him killed along with the rest of his family. Mercenaries disguised as bandits broke into her home one late afternoon, killing her parents and siblings. She ran to the edge of her garden, a cliff overlooking an entire forest. A bandit swung his sword at her but only gashed the left corner of her lips, forcing her to fall back over the edge, and into a river. Basima eventually washed up on the shore of the riverbank, being found by some nomads filling up their canteens. She begged for their help, wanting so desperately to not be involved in her father's politics, wanting nothing to do with her former life. They eventually agreed, helped hide her from the searching "guards", and helped change her appearance. She cut her hair very shirt and shaved half of her hair off to complete her transformation along with selling her dress and jewelry, save for a ring that was given to her by her mother as a birthday present. Since then she has been indebted to the Nomads for finding and helping her, learning their way of fighting, and searching within old temples in jungles and deserts.
